Hey everyone!

I am trying to edit and update an existing calendar in Pagemaker 7.0. My problem is this: I need to move the numbers inside the individual "days" away from the top and left side just a smidge. In order to keep it neat and uniform, and to avoid making 365 little adjustments, I've been trying to use the ruler guides and then have all the numbers in each month "snap" to those guides. The manual says that anything within 3 pixels of the guide will "snap to it" if I execute that command. But it's NOT DOING IT!!! I'm about to rip my hair out and I'm on the verge of tears here! PLEASE offer me some help so I can get this project finished! Thanks so much!

The text boxes will not move by themselves - you have to select them and move them towards the guide.

Thanks for the reply! But I'm wondering: if I have to select the boxes (using ctrl and the mouse to select multiple boxes) and move them towards the guide, what is the point of the snap-to command? It doesn't appear to be saving me any time or guaranteeing that all the numerals will be exactly flush with the guides. Maybe I'm lazy and just looking for a quick-fix, but it seems to me that any quality desktop publishing software should include a command that allows the user to move multiple characters to uniform positions with speed and ease. Am I missing something?
Thanks!

You can try tinkering with Preferences -> Layout Adjustment but it's not perfect.
what is the point of the snap-to command?
Best practice is to set the guides, on a master page, before placing any text or image. The objects then snap straight into place and can be re-sized quickly.

You can try selecting or more objects simultaneously and moving them to the guide, but it's probably quicker to move them one by one.

If you use the mouse in your left hand, you can easily use the cursor keys with your right hand for incremental horizontal and/or vertical movement of an element.

Are you asking about Distribution and Alignment?

Move one date where you want all the dates in that column or row to be flushed and then...

Element Menu >Align...> (Choose a preference).

Am assuming all your text boxes are equal in size.
