I've just reinstalled Win98 and both during Windows setup and since I've been plagued by this error message:
Grpconv
This program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.

Usually the application that is running pauses when the error message comes up and resumes when I click Close without closing the application, but often it only goes momentarily and keeps coming back. During setup at certain points where Setup was updating files the process appeared to come to a complete standstill as I kept clicking Close repeatedly and nothing seemed to be happening. I must have clicked it 500 times before things finally started to move again.
At the moment I am reinstalling applications as and when i need to use them, and this is when the error becomes a real nuisance. I can't find anything relevant to my situation on the MS knowledge base, and I wonder if someone knows something about this error?
