Groupwise receives same e-mail multiple times

Hi,

We have Groupwise 5.5 and we just installed sp 5 thinking it would solve the problem (it did not). A few users (myself included) are receiving emails multiple times. Sometimes just two or three copies (the same day). Sometimes 20 copies of the same email over several days. In most cases we have varified the sender is not re-sending.

Give this a try...

1. Bring down your GroupWise MTA and POA on the Server
2. Rename the <DOMAIN>\MSLOCAL, \WPCSIN and \WPCSOUT directories to MSLOCAL.OLD, WPCSIN.OLD and WPCSOUT.OLD
3. Rename the <PostOffice>\WPCSIN and \WPCSOUT directories to WPCSIN.OLD and WPCSOUT.OLD
4. Load the GroupWise MTA and POA

The above should take care of your issues. There si usually a message stuck in one of the queues and re-populates itself with unkinown frequency.

By renaming the above directories and re-loading GroupWise, it allows GroupWise to automatically re-create these directories from scratch.
