I know, but I tried to tell him. I had a "Important" client that wanted to install Outlook, and run it along with GW. He has a NT machine w/sp6a. Well to make a long story short, it did not work. Now, I have big problems. I kept getting a bunch of errors and gw would not open. Now gw will open (after much work, and little hair left), but I get 2 errors. Not sure as to the exact words that are in there, I will have to go back to the PC and write them down. But, I have an idea. The first one it something about not being able to load the address book. The second one is something about the attachment programs not being the same??(<-will have to check that one, and get back) When he goes into groupwise and trys to open an email, the text part of the mail shows, but no attachment window. If he tries to send on, the only button that is "dark" is the cancel button. But, the address book is there. I have everything in the "mail" icon on the control panel that I need, (ie novell address, novell personal, and one more that I can't remember, but it is the same on all the other boxes that I have in the plant. Any Ideas?? ( I will get back with more info, when I get the guts up to go back to his PC).

The mapi32.dll file gets overwritten many times when installing Outlook. Verify the size for NT is 621k. If not, rename file and then reinstall wms. This should fix the address book problem.

Also a key is the order in which the apps are installed. In order to use Outlook as a client for GW, GW client is loaded first. There are compatability issues depending on which version of GW & of Outlook. GW5.5EPsp2 (& up) I believe has cleared all the hurdles of compatibility with all versions of Outlook.(I think) Otherwise there is a GW Outlook Plugin Novell has. Here is some of the issues:

Godd Luck,
Mark ;-)

The exact wording of the errors are as follows

The addres book component could not be loaded
and
Attachment control interface version does not match

I tried to rename the map32i.dll file, and reinstall wms but that did not work. Novell site was no help. They said that the reason for this problem is that the windows\temp dir was deleted. Nope it is still there. Now he does not want outlook on his pc, and thinks that the easy fix is to uninstall outlook. Little does he know that is the first thing I did. Any ideas??

If you have norton anti virus, turn it off before you install gw. I have been fighting this thing for 1 and a half days and I just now shut NAV off, and it installed great and works great.
