I would like to make a rule that would work when the user gets a new e-mail and when he opens the e-mail itlets the sneder know it was opened. The key here is after he opens the e-mail a message is then sent to the user

marktag6693, go to Tools -> options -> Send. Under the Mail tab, there is an option for "Return Notification". I think this might be what your looking for.

DjM50 is right, his instructions will set a user account so that all outbound e-mails will get return a notification e-mail to the sender when it's opened (or deleted, or both). You can also apply this "rule" to a single message by choosing Properties when creating a message and selecting the Status Tracking tab - it looks the same as Tools/Options/Send.

Understand that neither of these will work with outbound Internet mail that goes out your gateway.

Hope this helps,
Dennis
