I sure hope someone here can help me. I am trying to install GroupWise 5.5 on a Windows XP Pro laptop.
My problem I believe is Windows Messaging System is not installing properly. When I try to install WMS (I grabbed a copy from the Novell site), it will go through the install alright, but will lockup at the very end. I check Add/Removed Programs and it shows WMSforNT installed. Anyhow, I then try to install GroupWise client and the message "Windows Messaging System Not Installed" press continue to install. I do so and nothing happens. When I try to log off, I then get an end-task box letting me know the "HTML Packaging" is not responding. Somehow I think this is part of the GroupWise install as it only showed up after trying and failing to install GroupWise. When I hit End-Task, I briefly see the GroupWise setup window open before the machine logs off. I cannot end the HTML Packaging manually as it does not show up in the task list and I was not able to find anything related to it in Services.
So, does anyone have any suggestions.
1. Is there an uninstall app to remove Windows Messaging System from XP?
2. Do I use the same WMS file Novell supplied for NT and Win2000?
3. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
