Anyone having/or seen the issue when trying to setup an On-Demand Scan of folders, you cannot Expand the list to select folders from the MailBox store to "Scan Selected" or
"Scan all except" options ???

When i click the folder + sign it just sits there........

thanks anyone !!

Does the On Demand Scan only take 1 sec to finnish?

Then you must start the Groupshield Service with Administraror account or some account that has access to the Private Information Store.

no because we cannot "expand" the folders i did an ALL scan
and it ran for about 12 hours, for 200 mailboxes, so i had to stop it. it also basically locked up, so our clients
couldnt communicate, they were getting "Outlook is sending/recieving data" until i
stopped
all the groupshield services.

they are all set to Local SYstem also, so i changed them to the Domain Admin account and will get back w/ status................

btw...have you had similar issue ??

Also, i was told from Mcafee to use the Transport scanning
vs the VSAPI does that make sense ??

Thanks I totally appreciate it

i just tried it, and when i clicked on the folder list,
it still didnt open them, just sits there........ ????

Since GRPSHLD 6 isnt the most stable product i suggest a rollback to 5.2SP1!

Uninstall GrpShld6 through Control Panel/Addremove Program
The same goes for Alertmanager and outbreak manager.

Open registy editor and remove everything from Mcafee

Remove any files left in install path.

Reboot

Install 5.2 SP1.

Then you have a good protection against viruses.

So you can run 5.2sp1 on Exchange 2000 ??
What are the common folders in the registry for Mcafee ??
local user\software ...............

btw...now that i tried an on-demand last nite, didnt run.

button clicked like it was checked/started, then didnt do anything..............
o well.

thanks DK

Yes, you can run 5.2SP1 on Exch2000
It runs on Exch2003 also.

I belive th regestry entrys are:
HKLM/Software/Mcafee
HKLM/Software/Network Associates

I was just looking at that.
thanks Bud !!

btw...are you running groupshield ?? Whats your experience w/ it ??
i remember the old one on NT was fine

Yes i have Groupshield 5.2SP1 in my network.
And it works great.
I have tried 6.0 but it have some serious bugs in it.
So my advice for you is to stick with 5.2SP1 as long as Mcafee supports it.
