After removing GroupShield from my Exchange 5.5 server, two mailboxes still appear in the Private Information Store / Mailbox resources. GroupShield Exchange (Server_Name) and DSAVServer_Name001. I cannont find either of these boxes in the recipients folder or with a directory export. If I try to delete either of these boxes from within the Mailbox resources I get the following error:

The object cannot be found in the directory. This may be because replication has not been completed. ID no: C1010AAE.

Has anyone experianced this problem?

Running on Exchange 5.5 sp4

Hokey,

We are experiencing the same problem with these two mailboxes. How were you able to get rid of them.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I actually havent been able to fix this problem yet. NAI seems unwilling to help me out ... so I changed over to Norton's AV for Exchange (but I still get the error messages on those old DSAV boxes). I have given up on finding a fix since we will be going over to Exchange 2000 here soon.

Sorry I cant help more

You can still delete the mailboxes in RAW mode. Open Exchange Administrator with the /R switch and delete the mailboxes.

Hope this helps.

These mailboxes only show up in Private Information Store / Mailbox Resourses. There is not a account asscioated with them.
Raw mode produced the same error message "The object cannot be found in the directory. This may be because replication has not been completed. ID no: C1010AAE."
I'm going to attempt to install Groupshield 4.03/4.5 again and uninstall. If that doesn't work I might try to name a user the same as the mailbox and them remove. Doubt that will work either.

Some more info:
The GroupShield Exchange (Server_Name) is the mailbox client for Groupshield 4.5x.
The DSAVServer_Name001 is the mailbox client for Groupshield 4.0x.
As many companies have done, we upgraded from 4.0x to 4.5x, thus giving us two of these mailbox clients.
If I re-install 4.0x, I am able to access the DSAVServer_Name001 mailbox and also remove it both using regular procedures and RAW mode. Same goes for 4.5x and the GroupShield Exchange (Server_Name) client. But to my dismay when both products are installed and uninstalled these mailboxes still remain under Private Information Store / Mailbox resources.
This is troublesome, as our backup software will not access these mailboxes and report errors on each backup.
Has anyone else experienced these problems and if so how are they fixed?
Thanks
