Wonder if anyone can help.
We have two windows 2k ADs systems, one is an old test setup, and the other our live system.
Basically both of these systems wont let the on demand scan work from within groupshield. We get an event id of 1042, which seems to point to store permissions.
I have tried a couple of fixes from the McAffee support site but neither made any difference.
The scan starts and stops straight way, saying an internal error has occured.
At the moment everyone has been given full control, including send as, and recieve as. Still no joy!
One solution was to check permissions on the store, and the other was for a corrupt exchange system mailbox.
Has anybody had this issue before?.
Both systems behave exactly the same, the only difference i know of is that the test did not have forest and domain prep run.
Also when a file is blocked, the admin alert mail message is not delivered, again with a groupshield internal error

I had the same problem with alerts not being sent, just the error message. I found an NAI article that said to create an exchange distribution group with all of the recipients you want for the alerts, then add that group in the alert setup instead of the individuals. I did that and it has been working fine ever since.

So did your mailbox scan work before or after you did your changes?
The thing is, this didnt work straight from the box..in two completely seperate builds. I must be missing something somehow.
I think my problem is more fundamental than just not recieving the alerts, unless you didnt try the on demand mailbox scan before.

Hotfix 2 for Groupshield 5.2 resolved this for us.

Ive just been looking and cant seem to find the hotfix for groupshield.
Did you get it after putting in a grant number?
 
yes, you have to put in a grant number.

our email system will not let me send you the file, but I can send it from my hotmail account if you like?

you should have a mail from my ntlworld.com account - hotmail wouldn't let me send anything over 1Mb!

Just checked and theres no message..maybe theres a recipient limit on a message of 1MB too on hotmail
