I've been reading the Networking Guide concerning the MCDN option for awhile, but haven't had direct experience with it.

I would like to hear what the group's overall impression of it is, as to whether or not it is necessary.

I have a good opportunity coming up with about half a dozen BCM50's and a couple BCM400's which we'd like to network with SIP trunks. Little more than office-to-office calls are required, but I'd like to know what MCDN would give us and whether or not you would recommend it for this configuration. All the BCMs only have a small number of copper trunks - no PRIs yet in the configuration. We are not leaning toward centralized voice mail either at this time.

Thank you!

MCDN enables the BCM's to speak to each other. For a site using more than just 2 or 3 systems, I would rank it as must have. I would also recommend you install an NRS for your call routing. It will be MUUUCH easier to provision initially and add sites to later. A worthwhile investment on a network that big in my opinion.
