Grouping the groups based on summary

Sorry that's not too descriptive.

Here's my problem. I have records of calls made from a number of phone lines. These are then grouped into calls from a each line and a subtotal used to create a bill of how much each line has cost.

the question is can i then group the lines based on a bill range? ie, bills of $5 to $10? $10-$20? i have written a little select formula which outputs what range the bill falls into, but i can't seem to group things with the formula.

help?
