grouping ignored on refresh

Hi,

I have a report with three levels of grouping:

group 1 - date
group 2 - location
group 3 - name

When the report is run for the first time, records are shown correctly ie distinct dates, distinct locations for each date and distinct names for that location.

ie group 1 - 2 dates
group 2 - 2 locations for each date
group 3 - 5 names for each location

However, when the report is refreshed, I get the following:

with the grpup 1 and 2 values repeating and group 3 values appearing anywhere within the group 1 and 2 values - there seem to be no logic to where the group 3 value appears.

Does anyone know why this is happening? Ive turned off all grouping/sorting options for "keep together" etc to try and get the groups displaying correctly.

Im using CR 8.5 with SP2. Please advice if you need more info.

check the other sections that are not appearing to make sure they are not suppressed or conditionally suppressed.

nope - no conditions or suppressed groups/sections.

Ive created a new report, added these three groups and run it. The first time the grouping is displayed as expected but when refreshed things seem to go a little haywire.

dont worry, Ive sorted it out - changed order by on sql stmt.
