grouping data

I have a main report with 4 sub reports included.
On one of the subreports I group by the type of the customer contact(type_id)as there can be more than one type of customer associated with a case. However, the customer can have many telephone contact numbers associated with them ie. home ,work,mobile etc.(phone_type_id) I would like to display every telephone contact for each customer displayed.
I have tried adding another group and grouping on the name of the telephone contact (home) but this then kicks out my customer data ie. displaying only one customer for that case instead of 2 or 3. Is there any other way I can achieve this?

What tables are involved and how are they linked? Which fields that you have mentioned come from each table.
