Being very new to Crystal reports I am having difficulty with grouping and showing headings. If I just group on just one field that's fine, I can just supress it. I however want to have a report grouped by user, then users codes. The drill down works fine for the users but repeats the header on each record for the user codes. I want to drill down to the user then drill down on the user codes for that user without the repeating headings. Can anyone help?

Go to file->report options->uncheck "show all headers on drilldown".

Thanks for that. It is still not working. I think it is because I have the header in the wrong section but I have tried putting it in different sections with limited success.

Which section? You should see the type of section in the left-hand margin.

One possible work-round would be to group by a formula field, user plus user code.

Down the side is GH1, GH2 etc. I have about twenty users and ten different codes. I want to be able to click on a user and be able to get the codes for this user, then click on the code and get the detail. At the moment the there is a header for every code. I realise that the way I am trying to describle it is very confusing.

Then don't describe it that way ;)

In general it is best to NOT describe the environment or the data, post:

Crystal version
Database/connectivity used
Example data (show th fields and what's in them)
Expected output (what you need to supply)

It's not just you, it is the nature of technical information that one should supply examples rather than descriptions.

I suspect that you have one row per user code, hence a grouping/drill down on the code doesn't make sense because it will just show the one row.

Save the report under another name and eliminate the code grouping, is that more what you expected?
