Hi all,

I'm getting Alarm 88 (Group Switch Module Clock Alarm) on a 5 LIM system with duplicated GS.
Here are the regarding printouts:

<scicp;

END

<scexp;

THIRD CHOICE NOT PRESENT
END

The display on both GCU2 boards is blinking between 1-0 and E-5
I thought the problem may be the RCCL not signaling so I changed it to GS-MULT 0-2 but that didn't fix the problem.
Should I change the MCCL to GS-MULT 0-1?

Thanks

If you mean the GJLSP after I changed the RCCL, here it is:

<gjlsp:print=all;

END

But still the status on the GCU2 boards is the same (blinking 1-0 and E-5)

what I mean is when "ever" you run a GJLSP print, you must run it twice, ignore the first print-out and action what ever the result is from the second time.

you run the prints consecutivley, one after the other

also try

SCEXI
and
SCICI

then

SFCEI

hi ,
i believe scexi and sfcei will not help,

you have a problem with the Clock bus in the GSM byself.

mostly that's a problem from the GCU2 board.
normaly you should contact your service provider to fix this problem.

another (selfmade and dangerous) solution can be: just pull out the GCU2 boards and put them back.(or switch off the GS)
attention: do this only in a low traffic time !! you will got disturbances in the system, of course !
if you are not lucky, you will have the same problem after wards!
this version is dangerous, specialy if you don't have any spare boards for the GS !

best regards

you need to be careful here that your not looking at something complex when in fact it could be something quite simple.
We had this issue a while ago that turns out to be nothing more than a bad clock source. also, blips on megastreams can cause these.
i wouldnt advise pulling GCU2 cards without following the proper procedures (ALEX) for blocking and ending the group-switch first.
by experience we found this to be a no-no as the synch can become stuffed very easily

cpux10,

you have to define you sychronisation again. Remove the existing synch. Your MCCL=LIM1 RCCL=LIM2 and ACCL=LIM3. Your external synch is FEML=lim1 and SEML=lim1.

Your SEML must be on lim 2. If you dont have a ISDN on this lim then only set FEML or fing=d another lim with ISDN and make that lim RCCL.

So in summary

MCCL = Lim 1 FEML = in Lim 1
RCCL = Lim 2 SEML = in Lim 2
ACCL = Lim 3

Regards,

Kings

Hi Kings1, FEML and SEML must be in the same LIM i.e. the master LIM. If you want external sync in LIM 1 and LIM 2 they must be assigned as FEML and FESML.
