I have developed a report that is using 2 subreports (Detail section - Da and Db). I have no problems with the shared variable formulas, the values returned are all correct.

I am trying to find a "trick" to suppress the group header if there is no information passed from either subreport. thanks.

You would have to place copies of the subs in GH_a, with your regular group fields in GH_b, so that you could test the shared variables in order to conditionally suppress GH_b. You would have to suppress all sections within each subreport, remove the borders around the sub, format the sub to "suppress blank subreport" and format GH_a to "suppress blank section". This will make GH_a disappear. Note that you cannot suppress the subreport object or GH_a directly or the shared variables will not pass.

Thanks lbass, I managed to get it under the same principle. But moved the "blank" subs to GH_a and GH_b and the copies to the group footers.

Thanks again lbass for saving me from more headaches on this report. Placing the sub reports in the group footers made it impossible to format properly (KeepGroupTogether). Putting in in the headers as you suggested solved this issue.
