Hi all,

Need your advise on this. Does anyone has the exact step by step solution to create a group policy?

I have a Win2k DC with active directory. Created a user under a particular OU called 'HR'. Created group policy for 'HR' to disable display settings. Authenticated user groups are already given READ and APPLY POLICY permissions. However, when i the user tried to login on his own computer, it seems that the policy is not applied at all and he is still able to change the display settings.

Can anyone please enlighten if any steps that i have done is wrong?

Thanks in advance!

Thanks guys.

But one question, does it matter if the DC and client machines are of different service pack? I have tried again but seems that it's still not working.

What i have done is:

I have put the test machine and user account in the HR OU. Then i created the group policy for HR OU to remove the display settings options. However it still does not work.

Do i have to manually add the computer name and user account to give them Apply policy and read permissions?

Hi all,

Thanks for all your help! I have already to get it working.
