Every time I click a shortcut on my desktop I get a program that wants to install, every shortcut does it. There was a group policy set in-place for this program to install but last Friday it was taken away (un-deployed). I still get this program to install when I logon and when I click a shortcut on my desktop.
Is there a way to stop this from happened... A way to retract the group policy. It seems to only be happening to me.

Thanks!

The first thing to look at is what program is trying to install? Secondly, have you run from the command line "gpupdate /force", and rebooted your computer?

The reason why you should look at what program is trying to install will give you an idea of what is actually the issue. Any entries in the logs that might give you an indication of why the program is acting as it is?

Adobe Acrobat 7.0...

I restarted my computer since Friday... The servers have been restarted since Friday too... Do I need to do "gpupdate /force" on my computer? It has been done on the servers...

It starts even when I open up a simple email...

I just did the "gpupdate /force" and it didnt do anything.

I figured it out... I had to re-apply it and then remove it again a certain way to do stop the auto install...

What this tells me is that the PC was not receiving this install package via Group Policy. "gpupdate /force" tells the computer to refresh it's policy to what the domain is requiring. If the install package was removed from the OU, then it shouldn't have been trying to install.

As far as your fix, you should enlighten us, as it may help others in the future.
