Hi, I have a problem with one of my desktops who is not respondig to my group policy for mapping drives.

This is the problem if i look at gpresult logged in with the user who is having the problem.
I see that the policy is applied but no drives are mapped.
gpresult output is the same as for other users.

If I login with another user on the desktop it works like it has to.
If I login with the user who is having the policy problems on an other desktop everything works fine.

is there anybody with an idea what else i can try before wiping the profiel ?
i have reset the firewall settings but without result.

Hi dieter, this is an odd one!
Have you tried running rsop.msc? this shold tell you what GPO's you should be getting and if any are being overwritten by other policies etc it will tell you which ones etc.
What is the clientand server OS?

Thank's I shall try this

the client is a xp pro sp3 the server is a sbs 2003 server.

I was hoping. You'd say XP :)
XP had a nice log file called userenv.log Its stored somewhere like c:\windows\debug\log
This should let you know any problems with the applying of gpo.

Let me know how you get on

hi, i just have a look at the userenv.log file, this is the message i get

GetGPOInfo: Local GPO's gpt.ini is not
accessible, assuming default state.

i tried running the scripts from the sysvol folder and they work fine but on logon they won't run.

Just did some testing it seems the policy's are being applied but just the vbs scrips won't run.
setting that are forced throug the policy's are applied

example: homepage

anyone who can give my a tip what i should try further ?

hmm, scripting not my strong point unfortunately. what are you doing with these scripts. Just wondering if there's anoter way of doing what you want without scripting it.
