Hi,

I want to enforce a policy so the users will have to create a password with at least 8 caracters. In fact the policies are ''Passwords must meet complexity requirements'' and ''Minimum password length''. The problem is that in the Local security policy snap-in the ''Passwords must meet complexity requirements'' shows that it is activated in the local parameter but not activited in the parameter in use. So, I think that maybe there is a domain Group Policy that override the ''Passwords must meet complexity requirements'' in the local group policy but I don't know which one. Does anybody could tell me where to start looking ?

Go to a Domain Controller and go to

Start - Programs - Default Domain Policy

Set password parameters in there.

Cannot be overrun. Must have same password policy for entire domain. If you want different password policies you must create different domains. Microsoft loves to ask that one on the exams.
