When users logon to the SBS server 2003 there is a policy that controls there rights. That is fine, but with a laptop for example when they take them offsite and logon as a local user the domain policy is stil active.
This prevents them from installing programs. They don't like it this way. Is there a way to change this?
The domain policy for local users is administrator.
This is done by a logon script.
When checking under users at the laptop the user has administrator privileges, but they cannot install software. What I like is a setup that when the user logs on as a local laptop user he has all privileges as it was before he joins the domain. Is it possible for not having a policy at all? We use only the local part of the AD, because we are a small company of eight users.
Please help me with this.
Thanks so far,
/Ben

i found that giving them domain admin priviligies when logged off the domain sorted that problem..go in there machine and set it.

"Ask not what your computer network can do for you - ask what you can do to the computer network to give you a quiet moment ."

Yes you're right that will do it. Checked it with the first laptop, but didn't see domain administrators in the list. Will study this a little bit more.
