Nw6 Zen4 when users login they can see 'shared folders' under my computer. The folder all have user names, the actual files in them belong to whoever is logged in, so no-ones files are compromised. I am constantly being asked about this by teachers as they think that students can see their files. Is there a way to stop these appearing with group policies?
I have looked at user and computer settings within the zen polices but cannot find.

You can find it in:

"Local Computer Policy
User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
Windows Explorer"

Remove Shared Documents from My Computer

I have the following sub folders under Windows Components
Netmeeting
Internet Explorer
Task Scheduler
Terminal Services
WIndows Installer
Windows Messenger

I do not have Windows Explorer

Could it have been disabled somewhere else?

Thanks Chris

so sorry looking under computer instead of user. I have found now, thanks so much

I do not have that option in in my
"Local Computer Policy
User Configuration
Administrative Templates
Windows Components
Windows Explorer"

altho' I have 20 other options, none having anything to do with the shared docs.

Am I missing a snapin or something?

NW 6 sp3, Zen4. I went through ConsoleOne(1.3.6) through a Win2K and an XP workstation.
Thanks

You haven't changed anything regarding filtering options under the menu show in group policy mmc?
Other than that, I can't think of anything else.
Sorry
