Access 2000. A simple unbound option group with any number of option boxes inside will not let an option other than the first one be selected. The first option box is highlighted. Setting the frame default to any other number does not change the default when the form is opened. The option values for all the boxes in the form are set correctly. Used wizard to construct the option group. "Clicking" on other option boxes momentarily highlights the box but the box is not selected. The label to the right has a highlighted box around it that does stay when the box is "clicked".

Other databases built with this access 2000 work ok; only one option box is selected out of the group.

I would recommend to make this option box manually instead of the wizard. I had problems with the wizard before and it gave me a different product.
I would say just build a group. Make sure the group box is highlighted when you put an option in and don't copy and paste.

I tried this out, and the only time I recreated what you describe is when the control source of the option group is set to the primary key. are you sure the option group is unbound?

Ma3x323:
Tried creating a frame manually and filled it with options. The options were automatically numbered as i put them in. No cigar. All are greyed out. Setting the frame default to any of the option boxes does nothing, all are still greyed out

pflangan:
The Control Source is blank. The frame is created either using the wizard or as Ma3x323 suggested, manually.

The same thing happens on this .mdb on two different installations of Access 2000 on two different PCs.

Reinstalled Access on both machines, problem still exists on this .mdb but i can now create correct option boxes in frames in new .mdb's.

Appreciate the help

Hey folks,
I realize this is an old post, but I just encountered exactly the same thing yesterday, and came here looking for an answer. My option group was placed in the footer of a continuous form. Is that the problem? I must have tried this ten times and each time the group was either totally greyed out or had the top option selected and would not change from that option. This before any code was attached to the group. Thanks.

Jeff

I fixed this by setting the focus to a Command Button which prints a report according to the Option Selected. By moving the focus to a button the OPTIONS become enabled again.

I hope this helps.
