I have a 5410 with an external alerter installed. The users extension was renamed from 3019 to 13019 and the alerter was given an extension. A hunt group was created with the extension of 3019. The alerter and the user are a part of the hunt group. Now here is the problem. The phone and alerter were working fine, but now the phone displays "no user" on it along with the ext 3019 and a "B", everything else is blank. I noticed this in Delta Server after a merge: Group Number Clash -- Group "Maintenance" matches User "MaintShop". Any suggestions?

Andy

I didn't do the programming .....

No User means quite simply there is no User created as that extension number. Open Manager, click on Users and make sure there is a user with extension 3019.

Was the extension changed from 3019 to 13019 or just the name? The above works if it was just the name changed.

If the extension number was changed from 3019 to 13019, then you need to go to the Extension tab and change extension 3019 to 13019. You will need to do an immediate save to save this information. This will reboot your system.

Did you also changed at the phone id the 3019 in 13019.
Now you have a user 13019 but the phone id is 3019 so the phone will say No User.

After you changed the phone id also do a reboot and not a merge.

I think if you are ussing 3.1 software twinning is eassier and neater way with a external alerter.

The extension was changed from 3019 to 13019 for the MaintShop user but kept the same name. A hunt group was created that uses the 3019 ext which has the name of Maintenance. Both the alerter and maintshop are in the membership for the maintenance group and are enabled. I do not know much about the programming end of this.
Why would I change the phone ID? If I did would the be compatible with the hunt group that has the ext 3019?

For every user you need to program a user like you did.
But every port on your DS-module has a extension ID.

The extension id of a port never change only the user number you give it.
The numbering is not logical i always use the matrix.

If you change the usernumber then in the extension id is a diffrent number like 3019 ---> 13019, but at the extension id still is 3019 then you get nouser with 3019 because you don,t have a user that number.

So if you change a usernumber then you must do this in 2 places. Get it????

Thanks for the help anyway...
As I stated in the original post I did not program this. I thought I could possibly fix this on my own. Trying to contact the programmer is difficult.

Have a great New Year...

a quick fix

on the extn log on with the extn number 13019
*35*<extn>*<Login Code>#

A bigger problem you will find is that CCC only suports 4 digit numbering
