Hello

Is it possible to create entries within a group from the values within fields? I have a report laid out in the following format

Audit.AuRef | BusinessUnit.Analysis1| Plan Status | Days
ABC | WCC |Planned | 20
INCWA |WDC | Unplanned | 25
..
ZHAL| WCC | Planned | 30

I am trying to get the items in the report grouped by the field BusinessUnit.Analysis1, however I would like to create a rule whereby if Audit.AuRef starts with “Z” then it is grouped as “OVERHEAD”, rather than the existing value within the BusinessUnit.Analysis1 field. I.e.

WCC
Planned
ABC | 20

WDC
Unplanned
INCWA | 20

OVERHEAD
Planned
ZHAL | 30

The problem I am having is that the field “OVERHEAD” does not exist within the BusinessUnit.Analysis1 field, can Crystal do a substitution based on the above conditions?

I am using Crystal Reports 2008 accessing a SQL database.

Please excuse the lack of technical terms, I’m not an IT specialist!

Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

Group on this formula:

if {Audit.AuRef} startswith "Z" then
"Overhead" else
{BusinessUnit.Analysis1}
