Group Call is pretty smart...I have not found a way to fool it into going to outside numbers. Phantoms, CDP don't work.

Even an external device that does this would be considered - anyone have an idea? I have up to five targets - cell phones - and the call must be real-time rathetr than a recording. It should be easier than using, say, a confernce bridge

Not possible with group call to assign external numbers. The only way is to use MIPCD board or PCA feature

I was requested to see if our system 81C rel. 25.3 could generate one phone which would dial/call a number of outside telephones to tell them of a diasaster, etc. Is that what this Group Call means? Thank you.

Well, after playing around with various things several months ago based on a request to have an extension ring out to a group of 4 people in the event it wasn't answered internally, I found a workaround. I set up a second line on my Vonage VoIP account at home and used a feature they call SimulRing(c) under call forwarding to ring up to 5 phone nubers at the same time. First one to answer gets the call. All I had to do then was set up a DSC pointed to that Vonage number and forward the extension to the DSC whenever they want it to ring the external numbers. Seems to work fine....

Outstanding idea Dale, and the "first answer takes the call" is good for my application:

- Enduser/my customer calls when the department staff cant provide coverage. Either we CFW to this line or we Menu Choice to it and the caller gets near immediate live body, spared from 4 other telecom staff members joining upon answering "Hello?" making it look like we are just learning the phones

How have to dealt with someones TAD or Voice Mail being the first to answer? I don't think it would happen much in my application, but it is curious.

thanks again - cool feature that will prolly show up in other vendor featres lists too.
