I have a database of records where one of the record fields is a date (i.e. Short Date - yyyy/mm/dd) field.

I would like to create a summary report that groups all records by MONTH. For example....

Jan Feb Mar ...... Dec
Records 10 16 21 17

Is there a (Query) criteria command that I can use to group records by MONTH?

Thanks, SG21

Hi,
That looks like a crosstab report, which is based on a crosstab query. I have an entry level FAQ on this topic, and will be adding more information on it shortly. Here is the FAQ: faq703-2868

Have you tried a crosstab query, using the date as your column heading? You can use the count function to get a total.
Hope it helps,
Danielle
