Newbie would not describe my title here so please be patient with me. I work for a small hospital and we currently have a 2000IPS with three PIM's and switched from our original telecommunications to PLNI. Before the switch we never had any of our trunk lines "hang". Kinda like the phone line is still in use even though no one is on the system. Our new provider asked that we change from ground start to loop start to see if that helps. PBX is grounded, happens intermittently. Tried swapping our 8COTS card, double checked our ground connection. Any ideas as to how I change from a ground start to a loop start? Better yet, how do I check what we are currently using? TIA!

Leif

First you need to know what route you are using, then change from ground to loop in route data.
CMD 3000 > XXX > YY XXX= TRUNK NUMBER YY = ROUTE
3509>YY>CHANGE TO 15
3520>YY> CHANGE TO A 15

THANKS 3racefan,

I wish I knew more about this PBX but I am glad to have found this forum. I don't know what route we are currently using (route=ground/loop?) and I assume all the commands are typed into MATWorx. As I live in Hawaii (woohoo) we don't have the support for this IPS2000 anymore. They are pushing some new PBX on us and we are happy with what we have now. I just want to find someone that could give me a "crash course" on this PBX. I will try those commands and let you know the outcome. BTW, any of these commands gonna kill me if I type it in wrong? TIA again!

THANKS MUCH 3race!
I found the area with these commands and will pass it by my boss to make sure I can switch the settings and see what happens. Cross your nose hairs and hope this solves my problem! Aloha

Your first port of call should be the FAQs then get a copy of the Command Manual and get familiar with it! If you can't get hold of the IPS manual, the IVS2 manual will get you by and can be downloaded from here.....

Correction.... I just checked that site and the IVS2 manual isn't there but the IVS manual is. So that will have to do! The main difference is Cmd 200 (also Cmd 76XX and a few other Cmds but this is good as a start) but the info on that is in the FAQs. Use that as a learning curve and then consider a training course. Until then we will try and assist as much as possible.

THANKS MUCH OZZIE,
Would anyone know where I can get the correct manual for the IPS2000. I would love to learn it and even get someone come out to train me but like I said before, no one here in Hawaii wants to fly to train me. Plus I don't think my boss would pay for it. So I am self teaching (with the help of this forum). Thanks for your help!

You should be able to make that change in CM 3509 and 3520. The data is set to either 01 or 15 in 3509. 01 being ground start and 15 being loop start. In CM 3520 the data would be either 02 for ground start or 15 for loop start.
Hope this will help

THANKS drpky,

3racefan gave me the breakdown on it and I found it through trunk route within MATWorx 6.0 I think. I need to wait for our vendor to make arrangements and fly out here to make changes on their channel bank at the same time I make changes to our PBX. Thanks to all who helped. Does anyone know where I can get the correct version of the command manual for this IPS2000? Thanks again! I am VERY appreciative of this forum!!
