I have created a PageMaker document and placed several greyscale tifs on the page.
The Pitstop Report once I have created a pdf shows the images as RGB files and the file will not RIP.
Is the a problem with Photoshop settings or PageMaker default settings?
Thanks in advance.

It may have been because of certain Distiller settings. Make sure you have selected 'leave colors unchanged' in the 'Color Management Policies' box under the 'Color' tab of the job options in Distiller. Also have a look under the 'Advanced' tab as to whether you have 'Allow postscript file to override job options' checked or unchecked (switch it the other way).

Neither PS or PM should cause the problems you are describing, (here or in your other post).

How are you making the PDFs? How are you getting the graphics into PM?

Thank you very much for your prompt reply.
Much appreciated.
Leave color unchanged is definitely checked in Distiller. Allow ps file to override job options is unchecked. The Distiller settings have come directly from my printer.
This is a 120 page document in PageMaker intended for black and white reproduction on Newsprint. Absolutely no color.
I "place" the photo on the page in Page Maker and export to pdf directly from Page Maker (to the distiller settings saved from my printer). I have confirmed in Photoshop they the images are greyscale tif format.
This particular page that is posing the problem is coming from a client. I have gone over the distiller settings with them, have obtained their images to double check myself in Photoshop, but still they show as RGB in my Pitstop report and the file will not RIP at the printer.
Can you help?
Thanks in advance,
Nancy
