Tools, Customize, Options the checkbox for "Standard and Formatting toolbars share one row" is greyed out.

Does anyone know why?

Try finding and RENAMING the OutCMD.DAT file (make sure Outlook is NOT OPEN). Then start Outlook and see if you now have those options available. If this doesn't work, go back, find and DELETE the NEW OutCMD.DAT and rename the old one BACK TO "OutCMD.DAT".

I forgot to also mention that you might check your "Mail Format" (via Tools | Options | Mail Format and try changing it from ASCII text to either HTML or Rich Text.... just an idea. Good Luck
