graphing data from a hidden column

I have an excel chart that has 2 series of data. I want to hide the column on the data sheet, but when I do this, the line associated with that column disappears from the graph. Is there any way to prevent this? Thanks!

In Tools/Options/Chart - Uncheck plot visible cells only

Plot visible cells only is a great way to make a chart interactive.
