I'm trying to put graphics in my filemaker files and and going to insert>file and then choosing a graphic, however, i've tried a variety of file types such as tif, jpg, gif, eps, etc. for this graphic, and they all turn out grainy even though its coming from a vector file... any suggestions on how to import it so it looks clear?

Edit-->Preferences-->Application-->Layout...check your settings.
Now, are u inseting grpahics into container fields for storage or just as layout?

my layout settings are:

add newly defined fields to current layout

and my color palette is 88 colors, however, i'm just using a black and white image and its still looking grainy... its set as a grayscale file...

i'm just using the graphics for layout...

it may be your image itself...if u like send file to lebisol2(o)hotmail.com

that's the thing, though, i've tried a bunch of different file formats and dpi and no matter what it still looks crappy and this is coming from a vector illustrator file... doesn't make sense... i work with images all the time and have never had this problem, but then again, i'm new to filemaker and have just used sql, access, and oracle in the past... hmmm...

are u converting image into .jpg before putting them into FM?not sure about illusrtator..i tend to use PS
u can try opening your JPG,GIF etc. in illuctrator then Select All - Copy - then go to layout and paste it.
not the smoothes way but worth a try...
what version of FM ur using?
download this file and see how it looks:
All the best!
