Hi,
I am using a Master Project Plan and would like to know how to generate a graphical report (visual report) of the timescale table, in the Resource Usage view.
I am unable to attached the sample of a graphical report that i would like to acheive.

thanks
Robert

I'm sorry, Robert - I have no idea what you are trying to do. I'm guessing a resource graph? Have you looked at the resource graph? What are you trying to chart - work for each resource? I'm guessing this is related to your other post regarding difficulties creating the visual report?

Hi, I agree with Julie this sounds like the simple resource graph view, but if you want detail by resource type as well as name then exporting data to excel might be your way forward.... let me know and I will give you some pointers

Hi Julie & Malforso,

The objective is to know as to when a work resource is available so that a next task can be assigned. This is across multiple projects that i am able to track through the Master Project Plan. I thought that the timescale table (right-hand side table view) in the Resource Usage View option, aptly indicates as to when the resource is free, but i need to scroll on the right, for each user to know whether he or she would be free.
I thought if a XLS report (a bar graph) can be generated which could show this.
I am really handicapped in not being able to attached the XLS document, so that you can understand what i want. Please find below the table that i am trying to convey. I hope you are able to understand.
In this example, for P1 project, R1 & R2 would be working until, say, WK4 (i am unable to show this)and for P2 project R3, R4 would be working until WK7. P3 project would start from WK3, when R1 and R2 complete the P1 project tasks.

Project WK1 WK2 WK3 WK4 WK5 WK6 WK7
P1 R1, R2
P2
P3
P4

I really hope i am able to convey what i want.

thanks
Robert

There is no built in bar graph view in Project to accomplish this. However, you can review resource availability in the Resource Usage view - collapse the resources and zoom out to show months over weeks. You can add remaining availability to the data in the timescaled view to understand how many hours are "left" in the resource's schedule taking into account existing assignments, max units, and calendars.

Hi Julie,

Thanks. Do you know whether there is such a report (out of MPP), which i could tweak to use with the Master Project Plan?

thanks
Robert

Sorry, no, I don't. The best I can suggest is to see if copy/paste from the Resource Usage view generates the data you want and then chart in Excel.
