Hi!
I am a complete newbie in flash and need some help with symbols.

I can put a graphic symbol on motion, so I cannot figure out what is the difference between a graphic and a movie clip symbol.
What kind of limitation makes the graphic symbol a better tool for static images and a movie clip more proper for motion?

Thanks in advance

Basically, a movie clip has its own timeline but a graphic symbol doesn't. A graphic symbol cannot play animation, script, or sound (unless you change its behaviour to movie clip.)

You are animating a graphic symbol in the main timeline - the main timeline itself is a movie clip. Your graphic symbol is static, not an animation. Your main timeline is an animation.
