I am using Crystal Reports 9. I have two running totals per group (month), one is "Total Repaired" resulting in a number and "Total Cost" resulting in currency. I am putting these results into a side by side bar graph, so I have 2 bars per month. I need to display the data values on each bar so one will have the $ amount and the other a number. If I go to the currency series > Number and select currency with a "$" to display, it also adds the "$" to the number series. Is there anyway display one as currency and the other as a whole number?

Thanks

When first creating the report, add the summary value that you want as currency FIRST when adding to the "Show Value" section in the chart expert. Then add the second value. Then still in the chart expert, go to the options tab->show label and change the number format to $1. When the values are displayed on the bars, the summary that was entered first will take on the currency sign, while the second value will remain a number.

Hmmm....I tried that it is still assigning both values as currency. I even deleted the old graph and started from scratch following your instructions.

Sorry, I assumed this would work since it does when you are using dual axes. So try this:

Add the two summaries, adding the one you want formatted as currency first. In the options tab, choose "Show Value" and in the dropdown, choose "$1". Then right click on the chart and choose Chart Analyzer-> Layout->and check "Dual Axes." If you don't want the second axis to show, in the chart analyzer, right click on the unwanted axis->format chart->selected item->color and click on "Transparent." Now you should see currency for the first bar, and a number for the second.
