Scratching my head here. I've been using a map drive policy for over a year. No issues. I've added another drive to the list the other day to the policy as i've done before. Every other drive is being mapped correctly except the newly created. I've verified drive permissions, shared permissions (able to manually map, create and delete folders, and confirmed shared permissions), verified gpresults and it shows that the policy has been applied successful (very odd here) to all authenticated users. I am stumped. How could the gpreults show that the gpo was successfully applied when the drive is not being mapped? Server 2012 R2 and windows 7 clients.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you checked that the updated GPO has actually replicated to the DC the users are authenticating against?

Hi Neill,

I did. I can't explain it but I simply removed the drive mapping just created and re-added in the exact same way and miraculously it started working as it should. very odd.

Weird indeed, but at least it is now working.
