Hi,

I've toned out a new punchdown for a 2008 set from the floor to the IDF and have punched it down on the MDF (cross-checking to make sure all the i's are dotted, t's crossed, etc.). I have good polarity all the way through to the TN on the MDF but still no dial tone! Since I'm also a desktop engineer and we've been super short staffed this week, I haven't had time to tone it from the floor to the MDF yet - I've tried to punch it down on other avail TN but get the same result. Any ideas?

Thanks-

One question that comes to mind. You say your polarity is good, but you have no dial tone. Are you checking for dial tone with a butt-set or the 2008 itself? If with the butt-set, you won't get dial tone because the butt-set is analog and the 2008 is digital.

If no dial tone with the 2008, it is possible the TN disabled itself if an extended period of time has gone by since the programming to the time you connected the 2008. Check to see if the TN shows DSBL. If it shows IDLE, then there is a different problem. You may want to test the TN itself by making a test jack directly on the TN.
