Has anyone deployed a Server Edition on Google Cloud?

Not the Containerised but a 'traditional' SE self deployed

Interested in your experiences.

We have several hosted elsewhere but looking at moving to GCP

Cheers

our company has some on AWS which is basically the same and all customers are connected via VPN to their SE

Works well.

Did you deploy via an OVA image?

Cannot get an OVA to deploy on GCP at all

We started in google and moved to AWS. Google was easy enough though.

I dont believe we used the OVA. We migrated the .iso file to the platform.

Ah, OK thanks downloading an ISO now.

Not sure what GCP is built on but I know that in virtualised environment deployment is only supported by OVA or VHDX and the ISO was just for upgrading.

I could be wring though.

However if it works?

We currently use KCOM in the UK but looking at alternatives.
We use GCP for 3CX hosting, be nice to keep it all the same but cannot get an IPO deployed on GCP, so may have to use AWS.

The only difference is we deploy a very small VM as a firewall in KCOM and this creates VPNs to sites.

The VPN per minute charging on GCP and AWS, if there were, for example 5 sites, would make it cost prohibitive I think.

VPNs work out at about $40 per month on both I think?
