Is everything migrated or is there something missing ?
If there is then get your self an account for GRIP
You can do feature requests and if there are enough then they will try to implement it in the software.

The end of an era...we'll miss the Partner - although we honestly have done way more with IPOffice in past couple of years. But they sure did just go in and work. They'll be around for many many years to come.

Wow - I knew it was coming, but I still can't see the sense in this. VW killed off the bug, and was never the same afterwards.

I think it's a mistake Avaya will regret for many years to come.

Very sad. Most of us knew the end was near....but still very sad. [cry]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

Long live the Partner ACS in the secondary market!

....JIM....

The same applies for the Index, still out there running fine and parts are still there second hand.

It's people like you who generalize.

Feature zero zero will always have a special place in my heart.

I am gussing that the family of Partner ACS dropped by to give me a star?

Partner is my favorite system - dependable, long lasting, user-friendly. Some of the original systems are still out there going strong (and almost 20 years years old). I am always proud to tell new customers this - it says so much for the product.

I was on site with an IPO yesterday that has been in place for a couple of years. I heard nothing but complaints about it.

Rarely do I hear complaints on a Partner - people love them.
This is truly a sad announcement. What a fitting name for this post: "Good bye old friend

That a partner works for such a long time is a good thing but then Avaya does sell less then when it works for about 5 or 10 years and that is where they going too (software only)

That an ipo is not working well is mostly because of bad programming.
The same will happen with a partner when i program it :)

On another tech help site, a moderator contacted Ron Rogers of Avaya.

Ron said that some of the Partner ACS's components are no longer being manufactured (power supplies for example) and rather than redesign the existing hardware, Avaya opted to put Partner software into the IP Office.

Avaya realizes that the Partner edition of the IP Office is not where it needs to be (the voicemail/auto attendant for example).

R6.1 (due out this November) will add enhancements and R7 (January 2011) will add more features.

Most of us knew that the Partner ACS would eventually wind down, but not quite so quickly. [sad]

If it ain't broke, I haven't fixed it yet.

I just wish AVAYA would have allowed 48 ETR phones on the IPO Partner. It is an easier sell to reuse all the phones vs. telling a customer that you will have to purchase X number of new phones to fit into new hardware. As well, there is no possible way to migrate a customer with a Partner Messaging into the embedded voicemail. They would stone me then throw me in the vat of tar with the bag of feathers right around the corner. I am curious as to see what release 7 offers.

On a side note, I wonder what they had in store for Partner Messaging R8, and what that non-functioning LAN port could of have done.

Perhaps a future enhancement will support more partner phones. Perhaps not since selling new equipment is job 1.

It's people like you who generalize.

The new 1400 series phones are so cheap that it is way cheaper than selling the customer replacement Partner phones when they are in need of replacement and they are also better looking and the hands free is better.
And one thing is important for the IP Office in Partner mode
DONT'T USE PARTNER MODE why would you restirct a Ferrari with wooden wheels to a crawl.

My question is price. The partners price point hit a sweat spot for those customers not ready to make the leap to VoIP.

As far as features are concerned - is the IP Office ready to be a Key system. Last time I checked (4.2) it sort of was. But in the end it was a lot of work a rounds. VM-Transfer just to name one thing off the top of my head.

Seems to me if it made sense to Avaya to manufacture something they would... Rather than let it die. I'm sure there are plenty of 3rd party manufacturers that would jump for the opportunity to produce something for Avaya.

wish I knew this was coming wouldn't have just sold and installed one last week.

yes - goodbye old friend.. RIP

is the IP Office ready to be a Key system

Are you serious ?
Wake up and join the 21st century!!!
Key system is old fashion and not really growing in to the feature.
I understand that some customers want it because they are used to it but if you do not change then you will not have many many many good new features.

the IP Office can emulate pretty much anything the Partner system did including leaving the codes for redial, direct to VM etc the same if you program it that way. The sets have gotten cheaper and the price for a IP Office is cheaper than the price of a Partner system 3-4 years ago.
You can use VoIP but you don't need to do it. VoIP is my least favourite way to make phone calls at all and when I can I tell our sales team to sell digital sets, they are a little bit more work to put in but you never are dependent on the customers IT department and if their IT department decides to screw around in the network the phones will keep working.
I loved the Partner system until R7 came out and the programming vanished after power outages and even though they "fixed" it the system has never made me feel as confident any more.
As far as the IP Office goes it is not designed as a key system but can act like one with the line appearance, but you waste buttons on smaller phones and Park zones are the better option with minimal training of the customers
