Our Goldmine has quit opening email attachments. .pdf,.doc,.xls etc won't open, usually gives message that the file is corrupt. Sometimes, no rhyme or reason, attachments will open. If I use Outlook then everything opens just fine. But once I release them into GM the same attachments won't open. (We use GM as our mail application but I was testing to see where the problem might be so I set up my Outlook). This started about March, possibly around the time we downloaded the daylight savings time patch, I don't know if that's pertinent or not. Goldmine tech support says they don't have this problem with anyone else so it must be something specific to my system. We use MS Small Business 2003 Server OS. Anyone have any ideas?

GoldMine just saves those attachments to a directory set within the users' preferences. I've never heard of this type of a situation but the first thing I'd try would be to open the attachment from the directory it's saved in via Windows. (Takes GoldMine out of the picture).

Chad - I tried that before I even tried the Outlook work around. There were a couple files I could not open in Goldmine that I could open by going directly to the attachment file and opening it with the associated application but I could not open all of them that way. I also tried re-assigning the file association, again no luck.

Right so this is really a Windows problem not GoldMine... You'll need to figure out the correct application association in Windows and then GoldMine will just use that.

Thank You! I will re-focus on the problem outside of Goldmine then. I appreciate your advice.
