How do set up goldmine to use email thru my Groupwise. Please give me details. If I cannot get the POP # and SMPT info from my network admin that what do I do.?

Why can't you get the POP # and SMTP info from your network admin? You can't do it w/o it.

They say that if that our company policy is not ot give out that info makes it would lessen the security our network.

Without knowing these details IT WILL NOT WORK you MUST tell Goldmine where to send and retrieve mail from. If you still can't get the info you need, give the Network Administrator the Goldmine disk and tell him/her to get it working, I think you'll be told pretty quick after that.

It sounds like they don't want you to be doing this, is that the case? If so, why do it? If you plan on giving the disk to the network admin, you enter the data for SMTP and POP3 in Goldmine by (from the main menu) Edit | Preferences | select Internet tab.

E-mailing through Goldmine comes with a new set of scenarios. You will have to make sure your users are not doing mass e-mails to their clients, which may/may not be allowed in your company. You will also have to set this preference for every user.

I would talk to your supervisor on this, I don't think you will get much done trying to force your network admin to do it. Unless you are in a higher position than him, he will probably ignore your request.

Are you in charge of your Goldmine system or an end-user with an idea?
