when we try to call a user telephone number it is going to voicemail and asking to put in mailbox number rather ringing?

wondering what could be wrong?

Status the station and see if SAC is activated, or the phone maybe forwarded. If it is not plugged in, the call will go to cover immedietly. All of this info is on page 1 of the Status Station XXXX command

I checked and found SAC is set to yes. Shall i set SAC
to no?

and ...

how do i set SAC to no?? i dont see SAC when i
put in command "change station xxx"!

You can try, if you have console permissions on your phone to see by entering in the fac for SAC if it lets you enter the extension following it. If not then try removing the SAC button from that phone. If that don't work you'll have to manually press it from the users station to disengage it. Better yet.. have the user do it themselves. they are the ones that did it in the first place.

Thnks bttrain....

what instructions i give to users to change SAC featuture?

Thnks bttrain....

what instructions i give to users to change SAC feature?

if you display their station 'disp sta xxxx' see if there's a button assigned called send-calls. if so then just have them press it. if it's active the light of that button will be lit. if there's no button you can either add it or do a 'disp feat' and see what the disable code is and have them press it.

when i disp features i see #33 code to deactivate SAC..i think i need to ask user to press #33...

Have the user press Send All Calls (SAC) to deactivate the Feature. It is that simple. Send all calls, when activated sends the calls to the first point of coverage immediately, in your case to Voicemail.

Thanks mgraval,
so u mean we have SAC button on 4621 ?

you need to do a 'disp sta 4621' and on page 3,4 or 5 you will see if the button 'send-calls' is there. the user would just have to press that. simple.

Thanks,

The problem is when somebody calls the user and user do not pick the phone, getting message "enter mail box number" rather directly going to user's voicemail.

any clues pls...

There is no voicemail box for the user. You are getting to the Voicemail, but when there is no mailbox associated with the extension that is the greeting you get.

Thanks mgraval,

How do i assign/setup voicemail box for that user/extension?

what instructions i give the user??

You either have to do it through Mailbox Manager, through the MSS, or through Active Directory if you have an Exchange Backend. I don't know your environment. How do you set up a new user? If they don't need Voicemail, just take out the Cover path entry on their station form and the calls will come through.

Right now the coverage path is set to go to your VM hunt group. Look at "li hu". Change the station form, remove the coverage path and it should ring.

It will help you here.

The wireless telegraph is not difficult to understand. The ordinary telegraph is like a very long cat. You pull the tail in New York, and it meows in Los Angeles. The wireless is the same, only without the cat.
