going off hook to the right line pool

I have a set that the customer wants to sieze trunk 34 when they go off hook. I have made the software changes to tell the set to go to line 34 when the handset is lifted, but all I get is please select a line on the display. All the other sets are programmed to sieze line pool A and this works fine.

Can you tell me what I am missing...

Assign line 34 to that extension, then make the prime line L34 or just put that line in its own pool group. Make that pool group the prime line for that extension.

alternatly after assigning the line to the phone and making it a prime line then it can be either private to that extension (if no other station can get calls on it) or public. or as noted above in pool a or a new pool.
