Ok, this is probably a very simeple question but I cant figure it out for the life of me. I have 4.0 and VM pro on a IP500. I want the incoming group (1) to go directly to a VM module. When I put VM:xxxx in the destination spot it makes the # look like a bad # and will not go through. When I put the hunt group extension in there it rings just fine. Also, what would the VM settings be in the manager?

I searched and searched the forums thinking this question would have been asked before but I didnt see anything. I wanted to research as much as I could before posting but this one has me stumped.
 
Not sure what it is. But I have a few sites that changes made to VM Pro, even with a save and make live to not actually come into effect UNTIL the VM DB service is rebooted. To these sites I have that do this I just reboot the both.

To be honest I would like to see a monitor trace of what this system is doing and what the actual module its self does, as yet we cannot even say if RichRich's module is a worker.

Same exact thing. I verified that in the system tab the voicemail was looking at the correct ip address. I can not get the destination to link to the vm server with anything that I do. Is there something in addition to the module that has to be added?

So if you create a shotr code *90/voicemail collect/"modulename" and dial it internally it won't work?
 
That is correct, I have a short code of *81. I will post a trace. During the trace I will dial in and try to access it from the short code.
 
The first part is me dialing *81 and the second is calling from my #. I put x's in the first 3 numbers of the log so the site admin doesnt boot me off.

Correct, it doesnt make a difference what I point it to. It happens to every module.
 
What exactly does your module have in it? Start point> then what. What kind of recordings do you have? did you use the VM to record them?
 
Hey, you don't have a greeting in the start point right? You didn't put the entry prompt there did you?
 
Ok, I guess my ignorance will help others because for some reason the greating in the start point is gone??? That is the problem. Now, after the original greeting is played and they press the touch tones it drops the call. I will figure this out since you guys got me this far and I will let you know what happens. Hopefully someone can learn from my mistake.

Don't put the greeting in the start point! ALL BAD! Put in a menu after the start point!
 
That is what I did, sorry to confuse you. I have the start point--------->menu (2,3,4,2??)

2---------->transfer to 201
3---------->transfer to 202
4---------->transfer to 203
2??-------->transfers to the desired extension

What happens now is that when someone presses 2,3,4 or the extension it dumps the call?? I am making progress.
 
You cant have the 2 and the 2?? in the same menu like that. Take out the 2?? and the regular 2 will work or leave the 2?? and get rid of the other 2 and change it to something else.
 
No, I am a contractor. I am just getting in to the IP Office market. There arent many people in my area that do it. I just left a week training class but I must have forgotten some things.
