I need help with GNS3 set up for a switching lab I am studying. The Lab consists of setting up DOT1x and vlan's.
I have tried all the regualars set up like adding the 16 eth card to the routers and up grading the IOS. One IOS will do the dot1x bit and then vlan creating the vlan is a pain in the ....and then you can't do e.g. the spanning tree vlan 20 priotity 61440

Question is there a way of getting a switch lab to work on GNS3 with all the features need for the BCMSN exam ?

I have heard GNS3 is not big on switching. So you best bet is to go EBAY and find four 2950 with the right IOS they will also do RSTP.

Regards

OK If I did get the right IOS for the routers that GNS3 support will that work or not ?
I have 4 3560's and 3 2950's at home to practice on, but I want to do it in a sim so I can study where ever.

You can setup a router on GNS3 to do the L3 side of it and setup the dot1q trunks. Then bridge an interface on your computer to the switch, and should be able to do all the routing between vlan's that way.

have you tried dynampis & dynagen.
runs smooth on linux... and you dont really have to install linux, you could just download a install cd for say ubuntu and it will allow you to load off cd... so then all you need is to create a small partition to save your configs and such
