Gmail requires SMTP authentication, looking at the client settings you must set a client to log on with a username (full email address) and password. The IP Office has the fields provided for this. I haven't tested it out myself though.
Also you need to use the correct server and port. All my mail clients accessing Gmail accounts are using secure SMTP on port 465. Assuming the IPO doesn't do SMTPS then you would need to find out from Google if their system can do unsecured because I have never seen instructions for this.
The other thing i have done because it was easy and free when i had issues with Gmail was to just get a yahoo mail account for free and then set the windows SMTP to use that.
