We are just finishing remapping our SQL database, complete with new table names, new field names, data mapped differently all over the place.

Is there a faster way to globally replace all the field names in our formulas and select criteria rather than eyeballing each one? We can't set location yet as the database hasn't been "released" yet, and we can't pick field names from dropdown lists as we can't see the tables yet. But we've got to get a headstart on redoing reports that have over 300 formulas each and thought we could at least replace field/table names...ideas, anyone? Thanks!

Later versions of Crystal (8 maybe 7) have an automatic field mapping feature which asks for a new field when it doesn't find the old one. You don't have to do each formula manually.

It does require connecting to a copy (even a temp copy ) of the database, but once you map a field once, it updates all formulas in that report.

I don't know any way to do it without the database.

Thanks for your advice. We're using Crystal 7.0 and it does not have the automatic field remapping feature. Appreciate your time!
