Hi,

we currently have over 1,000 different reports set up on Crystal Enterprise 9 and we are moving Enterprise to a new server.

At the moment all our reports are set up with sa as the username and the corresponding password, but we need to change them all to a different username and password as my team (and Crystal) will not have admin rights on the new box. Can I do this globally which negates the need to go into each and every report and do them individually? Possibly through the CSP query builder? This would obviously save me a huge amount of time.

thanks.

BOE XI R2 has a Schedule Manager utility available from the Launchpad screen. This tool lets you change Logon Info for reports that use the same datsource. One change can be applied to as many reports as you select.

I can't remember if CE9 has the same tool. If it does, it will be on the Crystal Launchpad screen, in a box on the left hand side of the screen.

thanks for both your help, CE9 doesn't have this functionality build into it which is why APOS created the extra add ins.

Ideally I don't really want to buy a tool for this though as we have a limited budget (as always!) for the migration and would only need this once as we're planning on upgrading shortly after and this functionality was built back in CE10 onwards.

So no way to do it through the query builder?

thanks.

Query Builder can only be used to retrieve information not to manipulate objects.
The only wway would be to use the sdk and to caode a tool wich does the whole work.
You schould use the RAS SDK for this issue.

I've got a csp app that I wrote for CE10. Should work on CE9. It's a modification of schedule manager that runs through all the instances too.
What's your budget? I'm sure we can manage something here. If you want, contact me through my web site.

bleuys - not sure what you're asking.
Instances are the result of scheduling an object. If the instance is a rpt then it's a report object. It could any of the other outputs though.

Made a mistake on my original post - it runs through the recurring (& non-recurring) schedules, not the instances.
