GL Report Generator won't do "Performance Ratios"

I'm trying to find out why a particular GL report won't produce any data in our installation (ACCPAC Pro Series 6.5). Everything executes, but the report either says "no data found" or is all "N/A"s.

I've chased through the code; discovered that GL has its own alien report generator (with dozens of pages in the Tech Ref), and pretty much concluded that some of the table entries for the generator are wrong for that report.

But the report generator is ugly-convoluted.
Does anyone have help on finding a problem in it?

TIA,

Dear Neil

Since you u r a programmer why don’t you look @ the source data in the GLAFS
It is usually quite easy to pick up where your data is going ‘wrong’.

Accpac does have its own report writer using Excel and my impressions of it is more or les the same as yours.

You do have 3 other options.

1. Look at the quick reference guide to the financial statement designer to find out if your formula is wrong.
2. Try Accpac Insight
3. Build your own OLAP cube based on GLAFS, GLAMF and GLASV

Good Luck

Since I am a programmer, I had spent a couple of days tracing the code before I gave up and posted here.
It is structured spaghetti, with elements of the report scattered through several tables and many subroutines.

My assignment was to answer the question, "Why isn't this report working?", not to duplicate it or create a work-around.

If we were going to use Excel or OLAP, why buy ACCPAC?
