Afternoon folks, I have been tasked with configuring 5 x basestations to a container as it doesnt support their existing D100 dects. :( We successfully managed to get a CISCO ATA working but these Gigaset bases just will not speak to the container. I have downloaded the security cert from the container and uploaded it onto the basestation, but STILL no joy. We have set the protocols to Auto (only option other than TCP that may work), but it appears that the basestation isnt even trying to communicate with the container. Are any of you guys aware of any specific restrictions or firmware upgrades that may help me out here?

Thanks in advance from beneath the bus.

Very coincidental, I too have had no issues with getting a Cisco ATA to connect using TLS, but I got an N510IP Pro to try and connect to our containerized system and as you it shows as registration fails instantly and nothing reaches the IPO.

I plan to try and connect it to a local system on Thursday (next free time) to see how it tries to connect using the obvious settings and then play with settings to see what changes in the trace.

I hadn't got around to installing the cert, but might leave that for now based on your post.

Cheers Pepp, will be interested to see what luck you have. I may try a firmware update on the G-set unit to see if that throws up any helpful things (like a specific TLS option).

Should have been a Bus mechanic seeing as I spent so much time under them.

Just seen this on a trace on my containerized system - still failing registration

13:58:21 1044147085mS ERR: TLSClient connection error -6003 (ERR_BAD_LENGTH) Src=10.1.4.30:5061 Dst=my public IP:48251

I have updated the firmware and still no TLS option. Looking at the Gigaset website the 510 does not offer TLS but the 720 does, however that appears to be about £300!!

Might suggest to my sales people to just go Cisco ATAs and analogue DECT phones.

Well, funnily enough, my tech director has just come in and advised me of EXACTLY that - we are going to go down the ATA route with Gigaset analogue dect [bigears]
Ahhh the joys of telephony inter-operability!!!!!

Should have been a Bus mechanic seeing as I spend so much time under them.
